FAREWELL

Well, the last moments of our adventure have been really emotional and unforgettable. Yesterday evening we had a farewell dinner at the GC dining hall: the families came to say goodbye and, later, they took us to the airport.

We took some serious pictures:

And some other silly ones:

We went around and chatted and took some pictures

Look at our only boy....We couldn't help taking care of him all the time.....:

Baltimore & Halloween

After the event of the hurricane, today started normally. We woke up at 6:30 AM, had our breakfast, and then drove to school. School didn’t start until 9 AM so we had a little bit of time to Skype with our class and give cupcakes that we made yesterday to our mates. We also received some candy from Anna and Vanessa. At 9 AM we took the bus to the famous Baltimore Aquarium. We saw lots of sharks, weird fishes, an octopus, the dolphin show and also a 4D movie! We enjoyed it so much and we took so many pictures!
After the aquarium, we had lunch at Chipotle, a very famous Mexican restaurant in here. We ate for free! Yei! Then we came back to the bus where we were talking about how badly we wanted to stay here, and then, we arrived at school. We met our mates and went home. There, we could start packing and get ready to cry tomorrow!

We've arrived at 2.45h pm to the school and then they gave us a Good Counsel t-shirt! Later we went to our host family home. In my case I went with Julia, Nuria and Lluis to Julia's house, because Vanessa had rehersal. At home we watched TV and we wore our Halloween costumes!
Lluis was a nerd, Nuria was a Charleston woman, Julia was a nurse and I was a fame dancer. Later we went to the Justin's party and we have had trick or treat! Trick or treat consists in going to houses and say: 'Trick or Treat', and people give you candy! It was so funny, now we have a lot of candy! After that we have stayed at Justin's house and it has been really funny because we have showed to people Spanish music and we have danced! And now I'm so sad because it is the last night and I don't want to go! This has been a magic experience and now I have a friend, and I hope that our friendship doesn't break.

After Sandy

It was Tuesday, the morning after the big storm of Sandy, we woke up at the basement because we were safer there. We didn't have school, so we were playing wii and I did my homework from school. We ate lunch and after Sandy calmed, we were able to go outside, and we went to Columbia's mall. I did my last shopping and I ate a chocolate cupcake  for 18 cents, because the cash of the store was broke. I was so excited when I knew that the next day we would go to the aquarium in Baltimore to see the dolphins, sharks and all kinds of fishes , frogs and crocodiles. At night we picked up the pumpkins and I picked up a pumpkin of a witch, it was so amazing and funny! We were prepared for the next day, HALLOWEEN!

Monday & Sandy

Today, what can we say about this day? Today we did not go to the school because there was a hurricane. Yesterday, some other  students and I went to New York and came home very late. so this morning we all got to sleep in. When I woke up i toke a shower and then had breakfast-lunch. I was very worried about the hurricane so I felt like crying. Immediately I  skyped with my mum and she said to me that I shouldn't be worried about it, because in America it is normal  and I could see that my mum was calm. We saw that it was raining and the wind was blowing very hard. After I finished skyping my mum I did a part of my homework. Next  I talked with my father and with my mother again. My mother said to me that she was not very concerned for me because she knew that I will be OK. Then I had dinner with my host family. I then played a game with Maddie and her sister Allie. Finally I am now watching a movie and when it is over I will go to bed. I have a message for all the parents: Don't worry, all it's OK.

Sandy

Sandy makes landfall around 20:00 hours today.

Sandy's no longer a hurricane, but it still packs a lot of water and strong winds.
The massive storm was downgraded just after it barged ashore in southern New Jersey, bringing 90-mph winds and a roiling wall of seawater as it moved inland and north toward New York City. It sent 90-mph gusts through the Wall Street canyons and water surging to a record 13 feet in Lower Manhattan, threatening to flood the subway system and prompting to cut power to part of the area to avoid storm damage.

Here in Maryland we are experiencing strong winds and rain but not as bad as in the north areas. The post-tropical sorm is supposed to weaken in a few hours.

Some people decided to tahe advantage of Sandy and ride the huge waves.

Sunday activities

Today, Sunday, the exchange students have done different activities with the host families:  some have gone to one of the Malls in the area, others have visited  places in Washington, DC  and some have gone, for the day, to New York city. They are now returning from the trip.
In my case, I’ve had  a really good time. In the morning, after breakfast, I went to the church to volunteer. I went with my exchange student Stephanie with kids around 6 and 7 years, and we played games, we painted pictures about our worries and then we threw them away, we sang songs ... I had fun there because I love staying with children and doing volunteer work. After that, we went to the mall and we had lunch there. We had lunch in one Japanese restaurant and then we went shopping!!!  We ate a frozen yogurt and then we went back to the house.
We're having a long weekend because of the storm, we will not be having classes on  Monday and Tuesday! We're having a great time here, thanks Good Counsel !
